2023 Schedule:

2023 Connecting with Ground is a non-residential program of 5 day-long sessions

  • Saturday Aug 19th 9-5:30pm
  • Sunday Aug 20th 9-5:30pm
  • Monday Aug 21st 9-5:30pm
  • Tuesday Aug 22nd 9-5:30pm
  • Wednesday Aug 23rd 9-4:30pm

Location:

This intensive program takes place on private land outside of Boulder, CO. Our days are mainly spent outside learning and practicing nature-based techniques that can be easily applied to participants’ current therapeutic, coaching or educational practices. Note that as a non-residential program, food and camping are not included in your course fees. Inquire about a camping option for an additional fee.

About your Facilitator

Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP

Headshot of Katie, laughing joyfully in front of a Colorado mountain backdrop.Katie Asmus, MA, LPC, BMP is a Body-Centered and Nature-based Psychotherapist, Educator, Trainer and Consultant. With over 25 years experience working in the wilderness, and 20 years as a clinician working with a variety of populations, Katie has spent a great deal of her career bridging the two fields of work. In 2000, after realizing the prevalence of trauma in our society, Katie focused her graduate studies and thesis work on body-centered modalities for working with trauma in the wilderness, bringing this work to the fields of Adventure Education and Wilderness Therapy. She has developed a number of professional trainings for therapists in these areas, presented internationally for over 15 years, and has published a variety of writings including a journal article, book chapter, and several guest blogs. Katie has been faculty in the MA Somatic and Wilderness Therapy programs at Naropa University and Prescott College for over a decade. She is passionate about supporting people to learn, grow and be their most radiant selves in the world!
